Good Basic Diet
Here are the key points to a Good Basic Diet
- Shoot for 51-70% raw* each meal, depending on the time of year. Cold months should have more cooked food. And make seasonal produce a priority.
- Sustainably-farmed or organic, and locally-grown when possible.
- Animal food* from untainted sources. Wild-caught fish, and free-range eggs without additives (even Omega oils) are best animal proteins. Organic, free-range chicken and poultry is next; then grass-fed organic beef, bison, lamb, etc. Slow-cooked, whole bone-in meat stews (bone + joints + some fat) help nourish the bones and joints, too. No scavengers: pork, shellfish, snakes, critters, shark, swordfish, etc.
- Very low organic dairy*: eggs, ghee, butter, yogurt, and cheese aged over 4 months;
- All vegetables and moderate amounts of fruits*. Small amounts of natural sweeteners* like raw honey, maple syrup, blackstrap molasses, raw sugar, stevia, untainted dried fruits, depending on excess appetite issues.
- Whole grains (+seeds) sprouted, cooked, steamed; occasional flour (ground just before baking). Avoid wheat*. Look for plant-based proteins* over animal-based, as they are easier to digest.
- Raw, cold-pressed oils*, and raw nuts and seeds as 10-20% of daily calories.
- A quantity of cultured/fermented foods: vegetables, cider vinegar, kefir water, miso.
- Purified water*, 50-80 ounces per day; organic herb teas and green tea, kefir water.
- Pure sun-dried (Celtic) sea salt*, organic spices, organic herbs– fresh and dried.
- Prepared with peaceful, nourishing thoughts.
