About Nancy Watson, CN
Nancy Watson has been counseling individuals to better health for more than twenty years. She has had a lengthy, 10-year college education, some unique health science training,
and employs a “work-with-the-body” perspective of tried-and-true healing modalities. Nancy’s focus is on helping everyone achieve a personal body systems balance and strength through optimizing daily foods and lifestyle.
Ms. Watson is a Certified Nutritionist, with a Bachelor of Science degree and further college studies in the human sciences: in nutrition, standard pre-med courses, and in the coursework for a Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree (3.9 GPA). Rather than complete the final needle-acupuncture clinical year for that doctorate, Nancy chose to pursue more training in frequency, or resonance-based electro-acupuncture as the discipline for her wellness practice.
Besides nutritional and wellness counseling, Nancy does lectures and seminars, business-employee wellness training, and cooking classes. She has authored many published articles on health and nutrition topics.
Meet Nancy
My main focus is on honest, quality food as the perfect complement to the body. When the two do their work together, a sense of wellbeing abounds and illness is rare. This is basic for truly savoring what is satisfying and delightful in life!
Oriental Medicine Influence
Before and throughout my nutrition courses I researched the traditional (Chinese, Ayurvedic, and Unani) medical models and decided to pursue the Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree for the solid medical training (the same pre-med coursework as MDs), the meridian and Chi bioenergetics training, and to learn how to use foods and herbs more effectively for their healing properties.
Nutrition Clarification
Most modern nutrition and diet approaches end up feeding a sort of science-nonsense that’s driven by industry marketing, media buzz, and a great number of theories. This is conflicting, confusing, and distracting for people about what food choices will actually work for them– what works in and with nature. Nature is constant, simple, and honest, so it’s safe and realistic to stick to nature as the guide.
Personal Injury and Remediation
What I’m offering here is everything I wish I would have known 25 years ago when I was hit with a crisis health problem that was quickly breaking down my body. A real, basic, healthy diet made a huge difference in turning that around. Raw nutrient supplements, homeopathics, and bioelectric technology helped work to straighten out what had been made crooked. At first, I was too toxic to exercise, but that also resolved through the years. Today I usually feel like a teenager, and have been allergy and asthma-free (having had severe allergies since infancy) for 22 years.
The results of these experiences drove me to help others by becoming a nutrition professional. Over the years I’ve scrutinized and even personally tried many remedies, theories, and healing approaches, and discarded most of them in getting to the core success of wellness. A healthy diet is the foundation –and a personalized healthy diet is the key to enjoying the benefits of full, working health.
Family Mentoring
Mom was awesome. She had a mainstream dietetic nutrition degree, but she didn’t understand the real, personal healing aspects of nutrition until she did one winter holiday season without sugar to see if she could avoid her predictable post-holiday funk and traditional, miserable, January cold. She not only skipped the cold, she felt so good she jumped into researching this new eating plan intently, and then changed all her food to natural, whole foods. Wanting to share this amazing ‘secret of health’ with others, she chose to work at a honest-to-goodness health food store– the kind of small place where the goods are in bulk, the place smells like an old-fashioned grocer’s, and the customers become good friends. My Dad just ate what she made, and lost 40 excess lbs. in 6 months, and kept it off for good. It was no chore. The food tasted amazing.
I dabbled in my mother’s changed healthy eating approach, but didn’t really adopt it until I got terribly sick. I excused it as being too “unrealistic for normal-type eating”. I was wrong about that. Eating real food is very do-able, and you’ll find that once you try it, the normal ‘cultural’ food tastes really off, and usually leaves one with uncomfortable symptoms that drive you back to a good food diet. Real food tastes amazing, and keeps you well.
And The Body Electric
And now, as a great modern complement to that old-school way to health, emerges the expanding science of biological electric frequency testing. This bioelectric testing and its accompanying homeopathy-based remedies are grounded in basic physics, but the healing activity extends into quantum physics.
My 12-year training and mentoring in bioelectric testing was with BodyScan 2010 developer, Spencer Woolley, L.Ac, L.B.T. Spencer had partnered in practice with allergist, S. Crawford Duhon, MD, for 17 years, from 1971 to 1988. They specialized in bioelectric testing, bioelectric allergy neutralization, and immunity remediation. This helped me drop my miserable, chronic seasonal allergy issues within less than a year. I was able to permanently step away from allergy shots, drugs, and inhalers.
And a note: Our family has had no need of over-the-counter or prescription drugs since we discovered the effectiveness and outrageous safety of homeopathics, and quality nutrient and herbal remedies over 22 years ago.
I have been using bioelectric testing in my office for a decade now, and my newest machine is an FDA registered Class II medical device. I have a very high regard for this technology because it is based on multiple working medical models; its results are objective and repeatable; and it was a critical part of facilitating my own health recovery. Frequency-based technology has provided absolutely remarkable help for my clients for the last 10 years.
A Significant, Emerging Threat
Beyond my college education base, I undertook five years of self-study in the growing area of human toxicology and environmental illness. From 1990 to 1994 my husband and I published “The New Health Standard Journal” and then “VitalHealth”. Both were subscription-based periodicals with articles, expert interviews, updates and info about environmental toxicity issues and healing factors. The sickening effects of today’s toxic-soup environment and modern lifestyle factors are yet unknown, undefined and unrecognized by mainstream medicine; and of course, drugs, vaccines, radiation, and many standard medical modes add to the body’s toxic load.
Everyday exposures to harmful chemicals, electromagnetic frequencies, and other modern assaults on our health are a very real problem. Today’s health counselor or practitioner must possess the knowledge, expertise, and understanding needed to educate, support and guide people out of their suffering with these increasing immune challenges and the resulting body-system weaknesses. More and more, our survival depends on what we know about these problems, how effectively we can stay clear of them, and how to support the body in removing or neutralizing them and then rebuilding full health.
Important Updates
Progressive practitioner-training seminars are critical to staying current with holistic healing modes. I attend (in-person, and now, mostly by webinar) as many of these as possible that feature top experts in: clinical nutrition and nutrient science, clinical homeopathy and homotoxicology, Oriental and Ayurvedic Medicine, naturopathy, herbology, and the emerging field of cellular resonance technology. I’m always looking for common threads woven through and in-between all these diverse work-with-the-body perspectives. What works? What heals and balances– successfully, over and over? I look for this in my continuing education class choices, too. And keeping current with other wellness-professional friends and colleagues is an important resource that I find invaluable regarding, ‘Exactly what IS working?’ ‘What are the best new discoveries and proven options for healing, weight-loss, diet, etc.’ and ‘What are we doing smarter and better?’
Real and Lasting Results
All of these holistic-type sciences concur in their basic concept: support and build-up the ‘terrain’ of the individual into strength and wellness. My greatest pleasure is using and sharing all this knowledge and information to help my clients establish their own individually-tailored, realistic nutrition and lifestyle set-up… one that meets their unique needs and allows them to maintain optimum fitness, health, and a happy life.
